Faith not Fear

Mission:

  • To help Christians live like Christians.
  • To live in the Word and in faith.
  • To be a light that leads non-believers to Christ, giving them hope for eternity.
  • To not conform to fear but to be led to contentment through Christ.
  • To not conform to hate that divides God’s people.

The only true thing to fear is living and dying separated from God.

The woman that touched Jesus’s Robe

This woman took a great risk. She was bleeding for many years and the Pharisees would have deemed her unclean. By touching a rabbi she risked being severely punished. It would be commonly known, in those days, that touching him would make him unclean.

Jesus called out “Who touched me”? Peter replied, “Many are touching you.” (Luke 8:45) Many might have been touching Jesus, but this woman’s faith is what Jesus felt. After touching him, she was healed. Jesus turned to her and his comment was, as he said to many he healed, “Your Faith Has Healed You”. (Luke 8:48)

  • Her Faith was Stronger than her fear
  • The past few years fear has gripped both believers and non-believers.
  • How strong is a believer’s faith if they live in constant fear?

Fear

  • “So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”  Hebrews 13:6
  • “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 4:6-7
  • “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
  • “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”. John 14:27

Faith

  • “And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” Matthew 21:22
  • “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him”. Hebrews 11:6
  • Throughout the Old Testament when Jesus healed someone, he would say, “Your Faith has healed you” or Your Faith is Beautiful”
