Why Believe
Why Believe. This is essential to having strong faith. There are many facts to the bible. It is not a bad thing to want to know them. God gave us these facts so that our faith would be strong. Everything hinges on the resurrection of Jesus, and the facts to support it are undeniable. Take the time to look at them for yourself. Here is a good start! Watch “The Case For Christ”.
Prophecy. The Old Testament has somewhere around 1200 prophecies that have come true starting in the book of Genesis. Explore the predictions of Jesus’s birth, the coming of the Messiah. Isaiah 53 is a good place to start.
Was Jesus just another Prophet? – Many other religions want you to believe Jesus was a prophet. For this to be true He would have had to be one of only two things. He would have had to be either Crazy or Lying. The only other thing Jesus could be was that He was telling the truth. If that was the case, then He told us the only way to the Father is through me. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
The Fallen World– This is where we get to know our Enemy. The devil’s tactics have been exposed for us to recognize. Tactics like Division, Hate, Anxiety, Doubt, Lust, Coveting, and many others that the Bible lists.
Boot Camp for Jesus– Now that you have some background, let us dig in and show commitment. You cannot achieve your understanding of the message God wanted us to know without commitment. “God so loved the world that He gave his only Son.” (John 3:16)
Let’s create a Daily Routine.
- 40 Day Challenge – 6:00 am prayer time. (even if it’s just 1 minute) Create this habit, this routine.
- Every morning read one passage from the Book of James. Once you complete this go to the Gospel of John.
- Turn from your sins. Yes! Give them up! Alcohol, pornography, drugs, or even your words. Pray for God to release you of them. Find a trigger passage. Mine was Philippians 4:13. For I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
- Accept Jesus as your Lord as your savior. Recognize that Christ died for our sins so that we can have eternal life with the Father. Invite the Holy Spirit into your life.
- The message is easy. Know the Word, then abide by it. You will be a new person in Christ. Your past is just that, your past. Leave it in your past! God Loves you and has forgiven you. He will create a new life for you in Christ. The old will be gone if you just obey His Words.
